About Old Swan

This once-spa hotel hosted Christie in December, 1926, when she left letters for her husband, brother-in-law, and the caretaker left to watch over Christie's young daughter. Then she took off. When her car was found along the side of a road without a trace of Christie, mystery lovers did what they do best, and got to sleuthing. Eventually, a banjo player recognized Christie and her retreat came to an end. But in the intervening 11 days, Christie found solace here in the Old Swann Hotel. Today, there's no spa so you won't be able to recreate the exact retreat Christie favored. The Library Lounge is available, and classic, but sparse — classy, if not cozy.
